Course Outline

This comprehensive course covers common mental health disorders, stigma reduction, communication strategies, and early intervention, ensuring participants can promote mental wellbeing and respond appropriately to those in distress.

The course highlights the unique challenges of supporting individuals with mental health needs, including those living with dementia, depression, anxiety, and other conditions.

For in-person sessions, the course includes case study discussions and role-play exercises to deepen empathy and communication skills.

Upon completion, learners will be more confident in recognising mental health issues, offering appropriate support, and promoting inclusive, compassionate care. This course aligns with guidance from the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), NICE, and the Care Act 2014.

A Mental Health Awareness Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion.
