Course Outline
The course covers the types, causes, symptoms, and progression of dementia, alongside practical person-centred care strategies.
Designed to increase confidence and compassion, learners will explore how dementia affects memory, communication, behaviour, and perception, with a focus on maintaining dignity and promoting wellbeing.
In-person sessions include role-play and sensory exercises to simulate the dementia experience.
Upon successful completion, learners will understand how to create supportive environments and deliver effective care in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, NICE guidance, CQC fundamental standards and the Dementia Care Pathway.
Learners will be awarded a Dementia Awareness Certificate.
